Terpene Profiling

Terpene Profiling

Terpenes are the aromatic compounds found in the cannabis trichomes which gives the plants their distinctive odor and contribute to its flavor.  Analysis is performed using full evaporative technique (FET) headspace sample delivery, gas chromatographic (GC) compound separation, and mass spectrometric (MS) peak detection and mass spectral confirmation against the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Mass Spectral Database, Revision 2017. Chromatographic and mass spectral data are processed by quantitatively comparing the analytical peak areas against calibration curves prepared from certified reference standards.
